In the 25th episode of the podcast the girls head back out on the road for another fun college football road trip!
This time, they go coast-to-coast, flying from Cali to cover a game between the infamous Hedges at the University of Georgia before heading to Florida for an in-state double header.
The girls recap their time in Athens, reminiscing about the electric atmosphere at Sanford Stadium as well as the athletic ability on the field. They were able to catch up with old friend and podcast favorite, Middle Tennessee offensive coordinator Tony Franklin as well as Blue Raiders head coach Rick Stocktill on the sideline before the game and chat about the C-USA landscape this year.
The girls are then joined by Florida International football beat writer Eric Henry, who pens for the SB Nation website Underdog Dynasty and was at both the UCF vs. FAU and Miami vs. FIU games the girls covered this past weekend. Eric breaks down the Florida football scene for all the Sass listeners and shares his journey through this crazy sports industry. Emily and Eric have a spirited debate about the future of a multi-quarterback college football world while all three podcasters proceed to butcher Tua Tagovailoa’s name. Eric asks the girls about their trip and how they are enjoyed their time in the Sunshine State and the girls happily divulge all the delicious details.
Finally, Kaleigh and Emily break down the other Week 4 games of note including Stanford’s surprising win over Oregon, Iowa’s near upset of Wisconsin and Army’s impressive play against Oklahoma. They also share where in the college football world they will be next weekend so make sure to listen to the bitter end!
