VIDEO: No. 21 Miami defeats FIU 31-17 – Highlights & Analysis

9/23/18 Miami, FL

Miami fans weren’t surprised to see freshman quarterback N’Kosi Perry enter the game Saturday during the third series, because according to head coach Mark Richt that was always the plan. Perry’s impact was felt from his first pass, as he lead the Hurricanes to a decisive 31-17 victory over in-state opponent Florida International.

Perry finished 17-of-25 for 224 yards and three touchdowns as starting quarterback Malik Rosier watched from the sidelines. Writers in the press boss speculated Perry’s extended playing time was not only due to his success on the field but also for the benefit of the many recruits in attendance – giving the prospects a glimpse of the Canes future.

FIU stuggled to contain Miami’s speedy offense and the Canes defense did what it does best – making stops and forcing turnovers. We even glimpsed the Tunrover Chain after safety Sheldrick Redwine intercepted a Panther pass in the first half.

FIU will host Arkansas Pine-Bluff next weekend as Miami welcomes North Carolina in an exciting Thursday night ACC matchup.
