Episode 19: Ladies of the Knight featuring Sports Anchor Kevaney Martin & Alexis Carpenter, wife of Las Vegas Golden Knight center Ryan Carpenter.

In the nineteenth episode of the podcast, the girls are joined by a couple of ladies of the Knight – as in the Las Vegas Golden Knights.

First up is 8 Las Vegas Now sports anchor Kevaney Martin, who has covered the Golden Knights since the expansion draft. She talks with the girls about the very special season in Las Vegas, citing the team’s character both on and off the ice and discussing the way the city of Las Vegas as fully embraced the franchise. Martin, who was a division one basketball player herself, talks about the electric game day atmosphere heading into the Stanley Cup Finals. She talks about the fact that the Knights had to send fans away during open practice due to a lack of space. Talking about practice! She also gives the girls her opinion on the matchup with the Capitals, what she thinks of Alex Ovechkin and gives her prediction for who will be hosting the Cup in the air when it’s all said and done.

Later in the episode, the girls are joined by Alexis Carpenter, wife of Las Vegas Golden Knights Center Ryan Carpenter. Alexis and Kaleigh became friends when Ryan was with the San Jose Barracuda before working his way onto the Sharks roster. The girls talk with Alexis about her mid-season move, what its like being a new mother and whether or not she will return to teaching. Alexis also shares her take on the Las Vegas atmosphere, what joining the Knights Wags as been like and how Ryan is mentally preparing for the Stanley Cup Playoffs. A Wags perspective is always interesting and Alexis gives the girls a behind-the scenes look at this Golden Stanley Cup Playoff run.

Finally, the girls close the episode out by talking a little but about the recent NFL rule changes and what it means for the upcoming season. They top it off with a little NBA playoff talk and add a few MLB tidbits to round it out.
