We caught up with Cal defensive backs coach Gerald Alexander after a rainy Friday Cal football practice. Alexander has been instrumental in the defensive culture change at Cal and Kaleigh talked with him about how he has managed to recruit and develop players with the type of defensive mindset Cal needs. He also talked about the current focus for the program, which is not on the first two difficult games of the season, but rather on the understanding and execution of the defense. “If we worry about them, then we are not worried about us.” Coach Alexander also gives us some insight into his very strong social media game and how he uses it to aide in recruiting.
